Last Comic Standing, the premier stand-up showcase contest, is back! The comics are as strong as ever. Now in it's 9th season, the show had finally found it's rhythm. No longer confined by the restaints of "living in a house" based reality tv, the show delivers more stand-up in prime time than ever before.

This season the Judges are Roseanne Barr, Keenen Ivory Wayans, and first timer Norm Macdonald. Host Anthony Jeselnik adds a good 15 laughs per episode. He’s a welcome relief from the screaming emcees in the past.

True to it's past, the show brings forth a variety of extremely seasoned vets mixed with relative newcomers. All comics so far have done a decent job of getting luaghs. The line up is diverse and the feedback insightful.

Specifically, we talk about:

  • Norm Macdonald's ability to listen, analyze and offer tag lines simultaneously
  • What each judge seems to be looking for
  • The best joke you can start out with (not what you think)
  • Being strong enough of a writer to follow your performance style
  • How Roseanne has really shown she is a fan of great comedy
  • How one comic got a second chance and made the best use of it
  • and much, much more.
